What the app does

Kuentaly is a personal-finance app. Your transactions, accounts and settings are stored on your device and, if you sign in, in your private account so they sync between your devices. Nobody else can read them.

Optional: connecting Gmail or Outlook

If you choose "Connect Gmail" or "Connect Outlook", the app asks for read-only access to your mailbox (gmail.readonly / Mail.Read). It uses that access only to find bank and payment alert emails from a fixed list of senders (for example Scotiabank, Interac, PC Financial and PayPal alert addresses) so it can pre-fill the expense for you to confirm.

• Emails from any other sender are never requested or stored.
• The full email is never stored. Our server reads each email at the moment it arrives, extracts only the transaction (amount, type, merchant or person, card ending, date, reference number and time) plus one short excerpt of about 200 characters around the amount, so you can remember what it was, and discards the rest. Only that is kept, temporarily, until you confirm or dismiss it. If you teach the app an email format, we store only a fingerprint of it (the words turned into numbers, which cannot be turned back into text) and the label of the total, never the email text. Emails that are not a transaction (promotions, balances, personal mail) are discarded and nothing is saved.
• Your access token is stored encrypted on our server only to keep the connection working. You can disconnect at any time inside the app (Settings > Mail), which also revokes the token, or revoke access from your Google/Microsoft account.
• We never sell your data, never use it for advertising, and never share it with third parties. No humans read your email.

The app's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Optional: AI analysis and shared label learning

If you tap "Analyze with AI", only the text of that statement (or the numbers of your debt plan, without merchant names) is sent to Anthropic's Claude API through our server to produce the result; it is not stored by us. Usage counts per month are kept to apply limits. If you leave "Share what I learn" on, the app contributes only generic label names it learned (for example "new balance"), never amounts, transactions, names or the PDF itself. Anonymous usage statistics and advertising

To know how many people visit and which pages and ad spaces work, our server counts page views and a few actions (for example, opening the app or watching an ad). This uses no cookies and stores no IP address: it keeps only the country, the referring site and a daily anonymous code that cannot be traced back to you. Free-plan users see ads in the app and on this website; Premium removes them in the app. When an ad network is switched on, it may use its own cookies and we will ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Deleting your data

You can delete your data inside the app, or ask us at the address above and we will delete your account and everything linked to it.

Estadísticas anónimas y publicidad: contamos visitas y acciones (abrir la app, ver un anuncio) sin cookies y sin guardar tu IP: solo el país, el sitio de origen y un código anónimo diario. El plan gratis muestra anuncios; Premium los quita en la app. Si se activa una red de anuncios, pedirá tu consentimiento cuando la ley lo exija.

Tus movimientos se guardan en tu dispositivo y en tu cuenta privada para sincronizar. Si conectas Gmail u Outlook, la app solo lee los avisos de bancos y pagos de una lista fija de remitentes, lee cada correo en el momento, extrae solo el movimiento (monto, tipo, comercio o persona, tarjeta, fecha, número de referencia y hora) más un fragmento corto de unos 200 caracteres alrededor del importe, para que recuerdes de qué fue, y descarta el resto: el correo completo no se guarda nunca. Solo se conserva eso, de forma temporal, hasta que lo confirmes o lo descartes. Los correos que no son un movimiento (publicidad, saldos, correo personal) se descartan sin guardar nada. No vendemos ni compartimos tus datos. Puedes desconectar cuando quieras desde la app, y pedir el borrado de tu cuenta en el correo de contacto.
